Jamie Lynn Spears is an actor that has worked predominately on children’s television programs on Nickelodeon; playing Zoey on the show Zoey 101 is one such example. She broke into the acting world thanks to her older sister Britney; she played the younger version of Britney in a film, and has gone from strength to strength – becoming one of the most loved children’s actors in the world. However, this image was threatened when it was revealed that Jamie Lynn was pregnant; the show was swiftly cut without a new series being filmed and the media were lambasted for glamorizing teenage pregnancy.

Worse was to follow as it soon came to light that Jamie Lynn was underage and, as such, there were questions raised as to whether her boyfriend could be convicted of statutory rape (sex with a minor). Fortunately, he was a little under 2 years older than Jamie Lynn so was only charged with a misdemeanor. On the 19th June 2008 she gave birth to Maddie Briann Spears in a birth that had no complications; something that Jamie Lynn was later quoted as being a blessing. Although there were some reports that the baby was not conceived with her boyfriend, these were categorically denied by Jamie Lynn and there is no reason to believe otherwise. Sadly, the couple called off their engagement in 2009 with the relationship finally ending in early 2010. Nonetheless, the baby is being brilliantly looked after by a young woman who is a model parent.
